LARI General Assembly adopts revised Rules of Procedure for the National Commission for Research Integrity

During an extraordinary General Assembly, the Member Organizations of LARI (University of Luxembourg, FNR, LIST, LIH, LISER) adopted revised Rules of Procedure for the National Commission for Research Integrity. The revised Rules take effect immediately and can be accessed via the following link: Rules of Procedure of the National Commission for Research Integrity (adopted 12 June 2024). They were jointly drafted by a working group chaired by the Vice-President of LARI’s Governing Board and comprised of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the CRI, the LARI Secretary-General and representatives from each LARI Member Organization.

The National Commission for Research Integrity (CRI) is an independent committe within LARI with the responsibility to investigate allegations of research misconduct related to research carried out at or funded by LARI Member Organizations. To ensure the independence of investigations, the CRI is composed of internationally renowned research integrity experts who are based outside of Luxembourg and not affiliated to any LARI Member Organization. Information on the current members of the committee can be found here

The Rules of Procedure were revised to more clearly specify the remit, scope and operation of the CRI, to more transparently define the respective responsibilities of the CRI and LARI Member Organizations before, during and after investigations of cases of alleged research misconduct, and to reflect recent changes in the governance of LARI. The revised Rules are intended to provide clearer guidance on what the CRI is and what it does not only to LARI Member Organizations but also to researchers and other stakeholders connected to the public research system of Luxembourg.

During the General Assembly, representatives of both LARI and the Member Organizations expressed their confidence in the usefulness and enhanced effectiveness of the revised Rules of Procedure and reiterated their optimism that the collaborative drafting process has paved the way towards strengthening the collaboration between LARI and its Member Organizations in future efforts to promote and foster research integrity in Luxembourg.
